As I slooooowly wind down my blog, I still get the urge to post a piece of ephemera a recent acquisition or an old favorite but sans the clumsy words that always seem to take so long to wrestle from my indolent brain. Since by nature I'm more inclined towards images, starting a tumblr seems the best way for me to continue sharing what I love without the pain of writing about it.
I'm happy to announce the birth of Soft Tofu 豆腐花, the beautiful deaf mute child of Soft Film.

welcome to the tumblr-sphere! :)
I love it! It's in the blog roll =)
What, no love for Chau Tofu? :D
Glad to see you're still posting whatever the platform.
Thanks y'all! I appreciate your support. :)
Dennis, I actually thought about Stinky Tofu, but I wanted to keep the "soft" thing going. Plus, as much as I love stinky durian, I'm not that big a fan of stinky tofu.
tumblr--Egad, what next? I am still trying to figure out navigating around twitter which is a platform generation or two older than this new-fangled tumblr!
Great to see you will continue to share the wonderful images that you collect.
thanks for the great pic of LADY WHITE LIGHT
-- Ed, no worries. This will be the first and last time I move house on the Web (unless of course I change my mind). I don't have a smartphone, so I'm not into Twitter. Besides I already fritter away enough time on the Internet.
-- Anonymous, glad you like the photo Miss Bai. I've got a few more nice ones that I'll post on my tumblr in the near future.
Yes I'll be there Dave!!
Glad to have you along for the ride, SpyMonkey! :D
Hurrah for Soft Tofu !
Great idea Dave. Soft Tofu kind of like Tofu Fa eh? Look forward to the images, bookmarking the new site. Not that familiar with tumblr but will haul myself over there pronto.
-- Rene, thanks for hurrah and for the announcement too!
-- Zoë, it's exactly like that! Sweet, soft, and slippery, with a touch of ginger.
Hi duriandave --
Am glad that you're not leaving the internet completely. Have added Soft Tofu to my blogroll. Can one comment on your Soft Tofu posts? Wanted to on one of its entries but am thinking not! :S
Thanks for the add, YTSL! I think you need to sign up with Tumblr to make comments. And additionally, the only comments I've seen on Tumblr so far is when somebody reblogs a post and adds their two cents. I'm not sure how or if one can just plain comment on something. The quick, free-flow format of Tumblr doesn't really encourage the wordier interactive commenting of blogs, which is both a plus and a minus, depending on what one is using it for.
great to know you're continuing elsewhere... hope you're doing well Dave!
Thanks for dropping by, Carl! I definitely need to catch up with your blog. Just saw your old post on Jun Togawa. Wow...
I'm so glad you came back to post more. I was sad to read that you were closing Soft Film. I will be following your tumblr as well! -Jane
Good to hear from you, Jane! I may yet return to take care of a few loose ends.
