Bai Guang in A Forgotten Woman (1949)
Let me offer another nicotine-stained post to all of you aficionados out there. My old time buddy Dev Yang "hand-rolled" the following video with choice clips from Miss Bai's classic film A Forgotten Woman (1949) wrapped in a sad song "The Past is Like Smoke" from her silver screen farewell, Love's Sad Ending (1959).

I like all, the photo's color and the movie.
Well i would have never been able to see this without your blog..thank you again for such historic clips. In Pittsburgh there was a guy on channel 4 or 11? Anyway he hosted a show that had Godzilla (gojira)b, Kung Fu, Charlie Chan series, and films like this. I watched every late Saturday night without fail. Loved this genre ever since the 1960's
Gorrrrgeous!!!
Please give me more Ms Bai,I am a huge Ms Bai fan.
-- Nora, I also love the tinting on that photo.
-- Barbara, I'm glad I can introduce you to some of these classic Chinese films.
That show you mentioned sounds very similar to what I was exposed to growing up in the 70s. All that stuff definitely laid the foundation for my interest in Asian films.
-- oldflames, I'm on a Bai Guang kick right now, so this is definitely not the last of her. ;)
